Pure Joy and Fun

One impression that I most memorised from this wedding was the feeling of pure happiness and a day filled with emotion and an extreme amount of fun. THE Buchanan (hello Ilsa ;-)) and the Vinyards plus the closest friends of the couple all flew out to Gozo to celebrate Isla & Stuarts fabulous day. Gozo has a very special meaning to the couple, they are not only mesmirised by this beautiful island but they also share a little personal history here.
Thanks Ilsa & Stu for making me part of your day. I truly had the best of times capturing those little gestures and emotions you two share with each other. See you two soon for part II.

Here are the details:

Ilsa's sparkly heels. I have been trying to figure out if the logo says *faith* ;-)

Isla's little "adopted" granddaughter looking on

The radiant bride.
Make-up by Natasha Polidano
Hair by Lara, Tony & Guy, Gozo

What is the groom doing in the meantime?

And the paparazzi at work!
I really like the angles of the pool and garden framing the guests

Last fine touches

Ilsa coming down the stairs

Oh my, Stuart expression is priceless!

Seeing each other for the first time. It was a beautiful moment shared with family and friends.

It wasn't only their wedding day but also both of their birthdays! Talk about a perfect surprise cake for the perfect day!

The beautiful venue at Ta' Frenc, coordinated by Loretta.

I snagged this intimate moment on arrival

and this one moments before the ceremony

This is what touches me

You can litterally read their emotions during the exchange of the rings.

Yes, this is HAPPINESS!
And this!

Everything Ta' Frenc does is beautiful

This made a nice exotic backdrop

How much I loved the guests. They made me laugh and roll on the floor. They are the greatest! Thanks to everyone for taking part in the little competition!

Isla & Stuart chose this gorgeous wine cellar for dinner

So many smiles and laughter!

The kids were adorable
Another reason to love this couple. Always an unexpected moment! Look at expression of the couple on the right!

My experience with these two didn't stop here. The next day I had an amazing time with them at their "The Day After" Session. Coming next week!

Colour & Light

This will be a quickie as I am heading out to a barbeque. Yeah! :-)

Do you remember Sarah & Joseph from their wedding last year? They came back to Malta for their first anniversary and wanted to do a shoot to celebrate their first year of married life.
As in true *J* fashion, I looked for beautiful lush colour and amazing light.
I leave you with this. Have fun and enjoy!

_Relaxed_

***!WARNING!***
Long blog post coming!

This post has been long overdue and before I blog Edel& Rob's elegant Sunday morning wedding at Ta' Cenc I wanted to share their pre-wedding.
One thing: this shoot was so relaxing and real. Edel & Rob just wanted to
be themselves, do what they would normally do and have fun.

We started the day in Gozo and this is how you would typically find these two on a relaxed Sunday afternoon.

They believe in good relationship values... including peeling oranges and feeding them to Rob ;-)

I really like the mood of this image

Yes, Edel also values Rob's cooking skills

I think this image would make every girl happy!

Then it was time for some fun at the pool...

I am sneaky... this is my absolute favourite sequence of the day!

Yeah, we even went shopping!

I am so glad we didn't get kicked out... good that I know how to shoot from my hip!

The next day we were back in Malta in their new apartment. I always wanted to do something like this:

Ohhh, so sweet and emotional

We roamed the streets of a very popular town

and I saw this amazing shadow:

It's crazy but I have so many more images. If you like to see them you have to come over to me for a coffee ;-)

SOPHIA goes INTERNATIONAL

Here's something very important to me. Ya'll know how much I try to promote local talent. If it was for me I would like to see our Maltese "ambassadors" all over the planet earth! There is so much amazing talent here that needs a little extra push into the big wide world.
You may recognize Sophia from the several competitions, cat walkshows, photo shoots. Now she is heading for even greater things! You can go and support our local model by giving your daily vote at

Good luck Soph!!!

A Beautiful Day

There is one song that always passes through my head when I think of Des & Grainne's wedding day and "The-Day-After" Shoot. And I think there isn't a better song that sums up the feeling than "It's a Beautiful Day"... by U2.
Let me show you why....

Grainne personalizes the vintage look with a modern twist. This one can be beautifully transformed into an art print

The old circular staircase at Selmun Castle... *sigh*

We headed out and found this nice rugged-up old place.

A small detail of Grainne's second surprise dress for Des... I think he liked it... a lot!

Summer time

The two of them were so sweet and took me on their sunset cruise.

And it was a truly beautiful day

Favourite Detail

If you know me and my style you will know how much I like to include details in my photography. Sometimes small things can tell the story and/or complement it. While editing a recent Post-Wedding shoot I came across this detail and it became a recent favourite of mine. Everything is so divine in this shot... the way the light passes through the wedding dress to reveal the brides slender figure while the wind creates movement, and the colours of the surrounding add to the overall atmosphere of this couple's intimate moment.

I hope this gave you a little bit of appetite of what's to come!

Dream wedding at Selmun

I am still alive and back again from the big move! Still, lots has to be done but I didn't want to let you all wait too long for the next blog entry. I have lots to catch up with so you can look forward for some brand new entries. Today though, I have something special for Des & Grainne from Ireland. What a couple! Both have such a great genuine heart and wonderful families.
Des & Grainne had planned their destination wedding in Malta and it turned out a true dream for them! That's not a big surprise as both of them had put so much thought and details into planning their special day that it couldn't have been any more beautiful than it was. Of course, they had had help from their fabulous wedding planner Rosemarie. She worked ever so hard to make everything run smooth and coordinated the entire event.

Don't want to make you wait any longer. Here are the details:

A close-up of the sparkly shoes

What a gorgeous bouquet! Soft lilac/ purple was the wedding theme colour.

The *bling*bling*

Getting ready of the bride

The first time Grainne sees herself ready.

The Bride

and the happy Groom
Grainne inspired me to convert this into a vintage tone for some Grace Kelly elegance.

A small chapel but an impressive painting. This is during the exchange of the rings

Married!!!

Love these soft pastel colours.

Caught off guard

I had to fight with lots of paparazzi photographers. Here, it worked in my favour, I like that they are actually not looking in my camera.

I had to post one formal. No, these are not the bridesmaids. Grainne's parents have 6 daughters!!!

My heart melts every time I see a groom look at his bride as Des does with Grainne.

The wedding took place at Selmun castle. What an elegant set-up! At this point I have to mention the couple's singer Angela and her brother Kevin. They are both so amazing!!! I highly recommend them for any event!

Another detail from the cake table

One last moody image.

More coming soon. Keep looking out for Des & Grainne's "Day After-Session"!

Getting There

A little update on our construction site. As you can see we are moving on, no not in! not quite yet!

Good news, to make the move quick we finally got windows!!! Yippee!

Well, but we still have that huge pile of dust and rubble in the middle of the living..and it seems to be getting rather bigger than smaller.

My prayers were heard though and all the workers came ... oops that's my dad. He flew in. Thanks Papa, wouldn't make it without him!

And the guys for the tiles are doing a great job in the bathroom. Although we had to change plans and I was a bit disappointed it still turned out nice. Can't wait to show you the finished place!

The en suite is getting there too.

Wow, and this is a little scary to watch in action. This guy has guts, 4th floor and hanging out there.

That's it for now... have to get back to painting (mmhh although I think I leave that up to the men ;-)

Aloha Gozo!

Quick note to let everyone know I will be in Gozo for a wedding and a Post-wedding. I won't be able to access E-Mail but I'll get back to you on Monday when I have returned to the office.
On a side note, I am super busy right now and do not have a lot of extra time for lots of blog posts. Although I have many shoots to share they have to wait a little bit due to the busy wedding season and also due to the fact that we are moving next week. Yikes!
That actually has caused me a small headache lately.
Look at the heap of dust on the image below: (in the middle of the living)
As you can see there are also no windows in the new house. When was moving date? 26th May! Yeah right!

If that wasn't enough, have a look at my bathroom below.

I just can't seemed to be to bothered too much as work has kept me too busy to think about it. But please do say a little prayer for me. I could use a miracle!

On a positive note, my car has finally arrived!!!
YEAH! I am so happy! It's small 107 but it's just the most practical car for Malta.

And even from above it looks sexy!

I'll be off to Gozo now shooting a wedding tomorrow morning. I'll keep ya'll updated!!!
Have a great day and enjoy the sun!

Spring Sun, Fresh & Fun

Happy Holiday everyone! Hope you all took an extra day off for a super nice loooong weekend!
Today, I have some spring-summery images for you that will melt down any last bits of your winter mood. Yeah, summer is coming!!!

So let me take you into my spring garden and show you the amazing shots Flavia and I got.

What an awesome profile...

but even front-on Flavi is looking gooood....

When I saw this image I immediately thought of a black haired barbie doll. Look at those legs!!!

Very modelesque! Love it!

Her eyes look so green in this image... the background mirrors them perfectly!

We had these bright yellow flowers. Such a perfect timing for a shoot!

I love real expressions from the heart!!!

Haha, Flavi you are so adorable!

And beautiful!

My favourite image of the day! Just love the summery feel of this juicy field with bright yellow flowers and Flavia's relaxed expression as she turned around when I called her.
This could easily make it as big print or canvas in my gallery.

Another beautiful shot... I think Flavi loves this one!

PS: Congratulation to Flavia, she's just opened up her brand new salon in Zebugg. If you need a cutting egde hairdesser here are the details to the shop:

A Quickie Teaser

Before I run out of my little office I had to blog this tiny bitty teaser for my absolute sweet (oops I am not allowed to say sweet or cute!) crazily wonderful sexy couple! I love them so much and they have the coolest ideas which you will see for yourself soon! I know Ann-Marie is checking the blog so for now these "boring" images ;-) of some of the locations we shot.
The most hilarious was that cat who slept on that derelict door frame until we came and disturbed her heavenly sleep.

This gives a small hint of what we were up to.... but you have to wait to see the
real story!

Big smooch to Ann-Marie & Clint... the waiting is soon over!

On the COVER!!!

I am so excited to show the cover of FIRST magazine. Yes, this is the ueber-talented Soprano Miriam Cauchi who shines from the cover of First! I can't tell you how excited I have been ever since I heard she was interviewed by well-known journalist and editor Marie Benoit. I have known Miriam for maybe one and a half months but I am in sheer awe when I learned how many things she's accomplished so far in her life and how many things are happening for her right now. Last Saturday, she was on the talk show Bla Agenda, on Sunday she was front cover, next Saturday she will be starring, e.g. performing at Il Magazzino, Valletta Waterfront. It will be a heavenly night "with a mix of popular classic songs and arias and more".
I am ever so proud of Miriam to see and witness where this path of life is taking her, I feel euphoric and humbled that Miriam has made me a part of of her path.

Here's the interview and magazine spread:
The front cover and first image were taken at Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar and will be featuring soon here on the blog
